    Pengaruh Pemberian Ekstrak Daun Kola (Cola Nitida) Pada Kualitas Sperma Manusia in Vitro

    Studi terhadap tanaman yang berpengaruh terhadap proses reproduksi masih menjadi skala prioritas. Salah satunya adalah Kola (Cola nitida), yang dikenal mempunyai efek stimulan. Telah dilakukan studi untuk mengetahui pengaruh ekstrak daun Kola terhadap viabilitas, motilitas dan integritas membran spermatozoa manusia in vitro. Sampel sperma diperoleh dari 20 orang pria dengan kategori normozoospermia. Sampel semen dibagi menjadi 1 kelompok kontrol ( kontrol negatif) dan 2 kelompok perlakuan dengan ekstrak daun Kola (0.05% dan 0.025%). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak daun Kola tidak berpengaruh terhadap viabilitas spermatozoa tetapi secara bermakna meningkatkan motilitas dan integritas membran spermatozoa (p<0.05). Hasil ini mengindikasikan bahwa ekstrak daun Kola berpengaruh terhadap kualitas spermatozoa manusia in vitro.Study on medicinal plants that have potential effect on reproductive process is still important to be done. One of the plant is Kola (Cola nitida) that has a stimulant effect. This study evaluated the effects of Kola leaf extract toward viability, motility and membrane integrity on human sperm in vitro. Normozoospermia semens from twenty volunteers were taken and divided into 3 groups: 1 group was treated as control and 2 groups were treated with Kola leaf extracts (0.05% dan 0.025%). The results showed that Kola leaf extract had no significant effect in viability but increased significantly (p<0.05) the motility and membrane integrity. It indicates that Kola leaf extract influences human semen quality in vitro

    Aging is a natural and spontaneous phenomenon which occurs during storage of dry grain, involving physical changes and chemical that would alter the quality of the cooking, processing, taste and nutritional value as well as affect the commercial value of rice. Naturally aging takes a long time between 6-12 months so it is less economical. Aging may be accelerated by increasing the grain moisture content and storage temperature. Freshly harvested rough rice contains high moisture content ranging between 21-26% and respiration activity is still high which generate heat that can be accumulated by the packaging, so the grain temperature increases. The purpose of this study was to determine the types of packaging which can increase the temperature and RH storage, milling yield and head rice yield. Grain varieties used are Siam Pandak with five types of packaging, ie black plastic bags, sacks, cans, wood and tarpaulin, and stored for 72 hours. As a control, direct drying grain harvest is used. Observations are including temperature and RH in packaging, milling recovery and head rice yields. The results showed that all types of packaging used can increase the temperature and RH in the packaging than the temperature and RH in storage space. The most high milling recovery obtained from black plastic packaging, while the head rice yields all kinds of packaging meets the quality criteria V ISO 6128-2008 except wood packaging, although based on the percentage of head rice, tarpaulins packaging has the highest head rice

    The presence of flies around human beings cause uncomfortable, it gives an image of unhygienic environment, which generate health problems. Fly control by synthetic insecticide obviously generate environmental problems since it is not naturally absorbed. Several research showed that fly resistance to insecticide increased from time to time in most places around the world. The objective of this research was to find an alternative insecticide for Musca domestica control, that is safer and less dangerous for the environment. The insecticide effect of five leaves extracts: Melia azedarach (mindi), Nicotiana tabacum (tembakau), Ageratum conyzoides (babadotan), Datura metel (kecubung) and Pangium edule Reinw (pucung) were tested for Musca domestica. The research was experimental type using post test only with control group design. In this experiment five percent of sucrose solution containing each extract was provided as the bait for this fly. The average values of flies killed during 24 hours and residual age were analysed descriptively and analyticly. Statistical analysis were Anova-test and LSD-test with 95% significance level. The showed that LC90 of M. domestica on babadotan, kecubung, mindi, pucung and tembakau extracts were 67,59%w /v, 27,03%w /v, 79,04%w/v, 160,09%wv, 9,56%w /v respectively. Anova-test for 24 hours observation showed differences killing averages value on every extract, except for the first hour. Effective residual age was about 2-3 days. Based on the observation for all extracts, tembakau extract was the most effective botanical insecticide for this fly. Keywords: Musca domestica, insecticide, plant extract

    Tujuan: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui jumlah kuman dan mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang berkaitan dengan jumlah kuman di bangsal rawat inap RSUD dr. M. Haulussy Ambon.Metode: Jenis penelitian ini adalah observasional dengan rancangan studi potong lintang dengan objek ruangan yang diambil adalah bangsal interna, bangsal bedah, dan bangsal neurologi.Hasil: Studi ini menunjukkan jumlah kuman udara, dinding, dan lantai di bangsal rawat inap RSUD dr. M. Haulussy Ambon belum memenuhi persyaratan sesuai Kepmenkes no. 1204 / Menkes / SK / X / 2004. Suhu memiliki hubungan yang signifikan dengan jumlah kuman udara pagi. Pencahayaan memiliki hubungan yang signifikan dengan jumlah kuman udara sore dan jumlah kuman lantai pada sore hari.Implikasi praktis: Perlu perbaikan kualitas suhu dan pencahayaan di bangsal rumah sakit sehingga bisa mengurangi jumlah kuman di bangsal rumah sakit.Keaslian: Angka kuman udara pagi hari berhubungan dengan suhu.
